The Royal Scam by Steely Dan
I'm not usually into American bands but Steely Dan are so brilliant. I've listened to this album on a regular basis ever since it's release decades ago. The songs are excellent with fantastic arrangements and production. Slick is the perfect description of this amazing band.

The Last Broadcast by Doves
If you haven't heard this, you're missing something.Their latest album Kingdom Of Rust is also great. The last Broadcast is possibly their finest in my opinion, although, don't let me put you off the others. Once again, this one gets a regular airing round here. Saw them live recently also. A flawless and brilliant gig!

The Tall Ships by It Bites
God! these boys are talented and what an album to re-surface with after a long in the wilderness. With the loss of former front man Francis Dunnery, a lot of people would have wrongly believed that this band was finished, but with the new addition of John Mitchell fronting the band, critics are un-doubtably silenced by this amazing record. I've luckily had the pleasure of touring with them on a couple of occasions and have two members, John Mitchell and John Beck on my new album Into The Ether. Tall Ships can only be described as "Pop,Prog" if there is such a thing. The songs are very, very catchy combined with brilliant musicianship. Buy it!
